Dr. Zhao Meiling, the president of WEDS.AA pointed out that the association is an international non-profit organization aimed at promoting the well-being of Asian and African women and children and enhancing international cultural exchanges. As one of the creators of the lyrics, Dr. Zhao made the following interpretation of the song:
Over the past five years, through exchanges and cooperation with goodwill people from China and abroad, I have benefited a lot and been deeply touched. After much reflection, the mission and philosophy of the association have continuously improved, the goals have become clearer, the idea of creating the association’s anthem has gradually emerged. I hope that through the anthem lyrics, I can express my thoughts and feelings, and through beautiful music, it can spread all over the world. The main ideas expressed by the anthem lyrics as follows:
1. Celebrating Asian-African Friendship. Though separated by vast mountains and seas, Asia and Africa share similar historical experiences and common challenges. This makes our peoples with shared missions and dreams. Asian-African friendship is enduring and deeply rooted, we are as close as brothers and sisters. It will undoubtedly withstand the test of time and the international dynamics.
2. Promoting the Spirit of Boundless Love. The core values of the WEDS.AA are “Fraternity, Inheritance, Mission, Dedication,” The anthem’s central theme is “Love”. Its lyrics overflow with love, expressing both a yearning for love and its profound praise.
3. Envisioning a Brighter Future. Humanity yearns and praise for paradise. My vision is that we must jointly build an “earthly paradise”. We must transform humankind’s longing for an ideal world into active commitment within our real world, enabling more people to live fulfilling lives and enjoy the beautiful life. The lyrics depict tangible brightness and hope, inspiring conviction and strength.
