President Zhao Meiling Visits Nepal to Promote Public Welfare and People-to-People Exchanges

From April 21 to 24, 2026, a delegation led by Ms. Zhao Meiling, President of Women Empowerment and Development Society in Asia and Africa (WEDS.AA) and Director of China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD), visited Nepal. During the visit, the delegation met with H.E. Zhang Maoming, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, and briefed him on the progress of their public welfare projects in the country, while receiving guidance from the Embassy. President Zhao was also invited to attend Nepal Chinese Enterprises Association 2026 Annual Meeting, where she had discussions with business representatives from both countries on economic and trade exchanges.

The delegation further held meetings with heads of organizations including Nepal-China Friendship Forum, Rastriya Samachar Samiti, and the Nepal United Charity Foundation. The two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on China-Nepal relations, local development conditions, and cooperation in grassroots public welfare and people-to-people and cultural exchanges — all aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and practical cooperation between the peoples of China Nepal.
