“Her Power · Painting the Future” International Women’s Day Themed Event Successfully Held in Beijing

On March 17, 2026, Women Empowerment and Development Society in Asia and Africa and The Pakistan Embassy, Beijing, jointly held a themed event titled “Her Power·Painting the Future” in celebration of International Women’s Day. About 80 diplomatic envoys and their spouses from around 20 countries, including Pakistan, Mauritius, Indonesia, Nepal, Cambodia, Türkiye, Myanmar, Senegal, Cabo Verde, Algeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola, the Maldives, and UNESCO, were invited to attend.

      

Zhao Meiling, President of Women Empowerment and Development Society in Asia and Africa, and Khalil Hashmi, the Ambassador of Pakistan to China, delivered speeches respectively.

Chinese and international guests jointly created a painting Asian and African Women Painting a Rainbow using royal painting skills on site. This eight-feet painting is rich in content and profound in meaning, expressing the common aspiration of people from all countries for peace and friendly exchanges. The blooming plum blossoms and winter jasmine in the painting symbolize the revival of nature in spring; the lotus flowers represent purity, integrity, harmony, and good fortune. The seven-color rainbow, painted with great enthusiasm by Khalil Hashmi, Gaëtan Michel Siew Hew Sam, President Zhao Meiling, and others, symbolizes the bridge and bond of friendly cooperation among the people of Asia and Africa.

Zhao Wanchen and a child from Algeria performed wonderful songs for the guests. The painting experience, along with the ambassadors presenting flowers to all the ladies present, brought delightful surprises to the guests.

The combination of the painting Asian and African Women Painting a Rainbow with AI technology brought the event to a high tide, winning rounds of applause. Sharing Iftar dinner with Muslim friends deepened Asia-Africa friendship through the blend of art and fine food. The entire event was filled with joy and laughter and achieved complete success.
