“Silk Road Happiness” Special Fund of China Foundation for Peace and Development established WEDSTAR scholarship at The Education University of Hong Kong

WEDSTAR scholarship of the “Silk Road Happiness” Special Fund of China Foundation for Peace and Development was established at The Education University of Hong Kong. On November 10, 2025, the “Global Women’s Development and Education Center” of The Education University of Hong Kong officially launched at the 4th Asian-African Women’s Development and Cooperation Forum. The Secretary-General of China Foundation for Peace and Development, Xu Jianguo, on behalf of the “Silk Road Happiness” special fund of this organization, donated 1 million Hong Kong dollars to the center and set up WEDSTAR scholarship, which is specifically used to fund students from the Global South countries studying at this university.

Zhao Meiling, the president of WEDS.AA, pointed out that the cause of women is a measure of social civilization progress and also a cornerstone related to the sustainable development of humanity. WEDS.AA initiated the establishment of WEDSTAR scholarship program with the aim of: Empowering women’s growth through “AI+ Big Education”, and providing each woman with wisdom wings to pursue her dreams.
