Congratulations on the successful holding of the CFPD meeting

On December 2, 2025, the China Foundation for Peace and Development convened its Council re-selecting meeting. In attendance were Gao Yunlong, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce; Xian Hui, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC; Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC); Lu Kang, Vice Minister of the IDCPC; relevant leading officials from the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the General Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the Subcommittee for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Affairs of the National Committee of the CPPCC, the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the IDCPC; as well as principals from over 40 non-governmental organizations.

The meeting elected the 3rd Council of the China Foundation for Peace and Development. It appointed Xian Hui as Chairman of the Council and Wang Heming as Secretary-General, and also named Zhao Meiling, President of the Women Empowerment and Development Society in Asia and Africa, as a member of the Council.

Liu Haixing, Minister of the IDCPC, noted that since its establishment, the Foundation has always adhered to the purpose of “promoting peaceful development and enhancing friendly cooperation”, conscientiously implemented the decision-making arrangements of the CPC Central Committee, actively responded to various risks and challenges, and constantly innovated ideas and methods of work. Remarkable results have been achieved in project implementation, fund-raising and international cooperation. He hopes that the new council will consciously integrate the work of the foundation into the overall situation of the cause development of the party and the state, focus on its core operations and global key areas, take an active role, and constantly create a new situation in the work of the foundation.

Xian Hui, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC and the newly appointed Chairman of the China Foundation for Peace and Development,emphasized that the new council will lead the foundation to unite more closely around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, adhere to the leadership of the Party, adhere to serving the overall situation, adhere to integrity and innovation, and adhere to standardized management. With a high degree of political consciousness, a strong sense of mission, and full enthusiasm for work, we actively engage in the great cause of people-to-people diplomacy, build distinctive brands through “small, beautiful, and practical” projects, and strive to be a good “messenger of the hearts and minds of the people” and make new and greater contributions to the development and progress of mankind.
