Up Close with Diplomatic Dreams
On the morning of July 29, 2025, a delegation of teachers and students from primary schools in Dingri County, Shigatse—an earthquake-stricken area of Xizang—embarked on a meaningful “Dreams Take Off: A Diplomatic Enlightenment Journey for Students from Dingri, Xizang” led by Zhao Meiling, President of the Women Empowerment & Development Society in Asia – Africa (WEDS.AA).

The first stop was the International Department, Central Committee of CPC. Vice Minister Ma Hui personally received the delegation from the disaster area, extending a warm welcome and expressing deep care for their arrival. This gesture not only encouraged the children but also reflected high hopes for their future growth. The Deputy Ambassador of Chile was also present at the scene, sharing the long history of cultural exchanges between Chile and China and the profound friendship between their peoples.

The Xizang student delegation further visited the Senior Cadres Activity Center. Mr. Xun Jun, Director of the Senior Cadres Bureau, and Ms. Li Ping, Deputy Director, attended the welcome ceremony and presented supplies to the teachers and students, demonstrating concern and support for their lives and studies.
Mr. Liu Denglin, former Chinese Ambassador to Yemen, shared his rich diplomatic experiences through vivid anecdotes, sparking the children’s strong interest in and aspiration for diplomatic work.

In response, the students performed traditional Xizang dances and presented white hadas (traditional Tibetan silk scarves), fully showcasing the unique charm of Xizang culture while expressing respect and gratitude to the leaders and veteran cadres.

The delegation also toured the History Exhibition. This visit not only fostered cultural exchanges but also planted seeds of patriotism and international vision in the children’s hearts.
