“Beautiful Village” Primary School Project Signed Memorandum

On September 4, 2024 China-South Africa Presidential Business Forum was held in Beijing. H.E. Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa,President of the Republic of South Africa attended and delivered a speech. Hon.Parks Tau, Minister of Trade,Industry and Competition, Republic of South Africa, H.E. Dr. Siyabonga Cwele, Ambassador of South Africa to China, H.E. Mr.Wu Peng,  Ambassador of China to South Africa, and Mr.Tan Jiong, Governor of China Development Bank attended the meeting.

During this period, a signing ceremony for the “Beautiful Village” primary school project was held. Zhao Meiling, President of the Women Empowerment & Development Society in Asia-Africa, Xu Jianguo, Secretary-General of the China Foundation for Peace and Development, and Lazarus Mokgosi, Premier of the North West Provincial Government of South Africa, attended the signing ceremony.

The Women Empowerment & Development Society in Asia-Africa cooperated with the “Silk Road Happiness” Special Fund of the China Foundation for Peace and Development and the North West Provincial Government of South Africa to jointly implement the aid construction work of South Africa’s “Beautiful Village” primary school project, including the upgrading of school buildings, computer classrooms, libraries, solar energy facilities, drinking water equipment, etc. The aim is to create a school building featuring “smart green health” and create better learning and living conditions for students. The signing of this memorandum marks the official launch of the “Beautiful Village” primary school project. The implementation of the “Beautiful Village” primary school project will surely add to the all-round strategic cooperative partnership between China and South Africa in the new era and help the two countries connect with each other.
