President Zhao Meiling attended the Forum on China-Afica Poverty Redduction Cooperation

On July 26, 2024, Zhao Meiling, President of the Woman Empowerment & Development Society in Asia-Africa, attended the Panel Discussion on the Exploring New Models of China-Afica Poverty Reduction and Development Cooperation. The theme of the forum is to Joining Hands for Common Development and a Brighter Future. President Zhao emphasized in his speech the public welfare projects carried out by the Woman Empowerment & Development Society in Asia-Africa in Africa; Emphasizing that poverty reduction is a common challenge faced by China and Africa;The Woman Empowerment & Development Society in Asia-Africa focuses on intellectual poverty alleviation by assisting in the upgrading and transformation of rural primary schools in Africa, and strives to create intelligent, green, and healthy schools to create good learning and living conditions for rural children. The aim is to bring new hope to impoverished families and inject new impetus into the country’s development.

The Women’s Promotion Plan will first pilot five rural primary schools in five African countries, gain experience, and gradually promote it, contributing to the promotion of people to people connectivity between China and Africa.
