President Zhao Meiling Led a delegation to visit Nepal
President Zhao Meiling and his delegation visited the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, to introduce the situation of the China Foundation for Peace and Development’s aid project to Nepal and the purpose of this visit.Ambassador Chen Song welcomed the delegation’s visit and stated that the embassy will fully support the implementation of public welfare projects in Nepal.Collaboration between non-governmental organizations can help promote mutual understanding among the people.
During stay in Nepal,Minister Bhagbati chaudhary of the Women, Children, and Elderly Department of Nepal met with President Zhao Meiling, who welcomed President Zhao Meiling visit to Nepal and introduced the main responsibilities and major projects of the department. President Zhao Meiling introduced the international public welfare projects carried out by the Woman Empowerment & Development Society in Asia-Africa . Both sides exchanged views on strengthening exchanges and cooperation between women from both countries.
President Zhao Meiling also held talks with Usha Bandari, daughter of former president Nepal, Director of the International Department of the Madan Bandari Foundation and Mrs. Shehanrui, former Minister of Information of Nepal.Usha Bandari highly praises the fruitful cooperation with the China Foundation for Peace and Development, and looks forward to working together with President Zhao Meiling to explore new cooperation projects.Mrs. Shehanrui has been engaged in public welfare for many years, and both sides share similar concepts. Communication between the two sides helps to enhance mutual understanding and promote the development of public welfare.
President Zhao Meilling had in-depth exchanges with the Director of the Nepal China Research Center, former Nepalese Ambassador to China Leela, and Secretary General of the Nepal Silk Road Friends Club.The two institutions have made important contributions to promoting friendly cooperation between China and Nepal. They hope to strengthen exchanges with Chinese experts and scholars, and both sides believe that the potential for exchange and cooperation between the two countries’ think tanks is enormous.
The prospects for cultural and educational cooperation between China and Nepal are broad.President Zhao Meiling visited Vice Chairman, Lumbini Development Commission, Nepal,Siddhartha Raekhenpo, to discuss exchanges and mutual learning between different civilizations and religions. President Zhao also visited one of the most important religious holy sites in the world, the birthplace of Shakyamuni.
President Zhao Meiling visited Lumbini Buddhist University and two primary schools, and had friendly conversations with school leaders and teachers and students.
This visit has enhanced mutual understanding, deepened friendship, and reached a consensus on carrying out public welfare projects. The visit was a complete success.
