We Climbed the Great Wall Today!

On August 3, 2025, Dr. Zhao Meiling, President of the Women Empowerment & Development Society in Asia-Africa (WEDS.AA), led  the delegation of teachers and students from Shigatse, Xizang to visit Badaling Great Wall.

After rain, Beijing basked in a cloudless sky, with the majestic Great Wall unfolding before their eyes—winding its way through the mountains like a giant dragon. The children’s excitement was palpable as they listened intently to the guide while making their way up to the summit.

On the Great Wall, Teacher Wang Yanzhao guided the children in loudly singing WEDS.AA’s anthem “Love in Asia and Africa”, followed by a group photo. Through their voices, the children expressed their love for the motherland and family, exemplifying the power of boundless compassion, and bringing a perfect conclusion to this “diplomatic enlightenment journey.”

“He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true man”—and today, these children proved themselves heroes by reaching it. This visit has enriched their knowledge, broadened their horizons, and we believe they will carry forward the spirit of “Nothing in the world is difficult if you are willing to climb” to face studies, life, and future challenges, growing into true heroes with unwavering resolve.
