Chinese and Foreign Guests Jointly Create a Scroll Painting
The Hong Kong Association for External Friendship successfully held the “Global University Leaders Forum” from December 2 to 3, 2024. More than 1000 people, including presidents from more than 50 universities on all continents, attended the forum.
To congratulate the successful holding of the forum it was co-planned by Chairman Priscilla Leung of the Hong Kong Association for External Friendship and President Zhao Meiling of the Women Empowerment & Development Society in Asia-Africa, and guided by the famous China painter Jun Shou, and together with guests from various countries attending the forum and university presidents from five continents, he created a huge painting “Friendship Forever”, implying that the university inherits the concepts of teaching and educating people, openness, inclusiveness, cooperation and innovation, and peaceful development.
Li Jiachao, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; Zheng Yanxiong, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Cui Jianchun, commissioner of the Office of The Commissioner of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The People’s Republic Of China in The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region respectively drew eyes for the dove of peace and drew bauhinia flowers, representative flower of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The picture consists of the dove of peace, a peony, the national flower of China, bauhinia in Hong Kong, pomegranate trees and national flowers from some countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and America. Mountains and sailing boats are sailing in the distance. Demonstrate that the “Belt and Road” benefits world peace, development and prosperity, promotes unity and cooperation among all countries, provides mutual benefit and win-win results, and produces a grand blueprint with fruitful results. The “Friendship Forever” scroll is signed in five languages: Chinese, English, French, Russian and Arabic.
The active participation of principals from all over the world added exotic style to the picture. Culture is colorful due to exchanges, and civilization is enriched by mutual learning; cultural exchanges and interactions are bridges that build friendship between China and foreign countries and connect people’s hearts.
