President Zhao Meiling Led a delegation to visit Liberia

From August 15th to 16th, 2024, Zhao Meiling, President of the Woman Empowerment & Development Society in Asia-Africa, led a delegation to Liberia for a working visit.President Zhao and her delegation paid a visit to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Yin Chengwu of China to Liberia, and introduced the public welfare project of upgrading and renovating rural primary schools in Liberia, as well as strengthening exchanges between women from the two countries. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Yin Chengwu emphasized that people to people exchanges and cooperation between China and Liberia are of great significance in enhancing people to people connectivity, and the Embassy will fully support them.

During her stay in Liberia, President Zhao paid a visit to the wife of the President of Liberia, Kartumu Yarta Boakai, and accompanied her to visit primary schools,hospitals, and other places in Bomi County.We were warmly welcomed by the local people.Du Jing,Director of the Comprehensive Department of the China Peace and Development Foundation, and Wang Dazhi, Director of the Political Department of the Chinese Embassy in Liberia, accompanied the visit.

The wife of President held a banquet to welcome President Zhao and her delegation, and both sides exchanged gifts as a souvenir. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Yin Chengwu and Director of the Political Department Wang Dazhi of the Chinese Embassy in Liberia accompanied the participants.This visit has enhanced mutual understanding, deepened friendship, and reached consensus on carrying out public welfare projects.The visit was a complete success. Du Jing, Director of the Comprehensive Department of the China Foundation for Peace and Development, accompanied the entire process.
