Third Asia-Africa Women’s Development and Cooperation Forum Seminar

On the morning of October 31, 2023, a Seminar on “Join Hands and Seek Common Development”-the 3rd Asia-Africa Women’s Development and Cooperation Forum, was held at Fulidun Ocean Park, Hong Kong.

The participants are H.E.Joyce Banda-former-President of Malawi, Honorary President of WEDS.AA; Ms. Azeb Mesfin- wife of the former Prime Minister of Ethiopia, H.E.Meles; Ms. Azeb Mesfin-Chairman of President of Meles Zenawi Foundation; H.E. Mrs. Ariunzaya Ayush-Secretary of the Mongolian People’s Party; H.E. ING KANTHA PHAVI M.D.

-Minister of Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Kingdom of Cambodia; Prof. Marcellina Mvula Chijoriga- Principal of Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Leadership School; Ambassadors of Ghana and Guinea to China; Deputy Ambassador of Malawi to China; Wife of the Ambassador of Bahrain; Some of the Consuls General in Hong Kong; Ms. Pansy Ho -Member of Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairman of Hong Kong Federation of Women; Ms. JIANG Dan-Founder of Beijing Yaoyang Foundation; Ms. ZHAO Meiling- President of WEDS.AA and Mr. LIN Difu-President of Guangdong’s Association For Promotion of Cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong & Macao.

Ms. JIANG Dan-Founder of Beijing Yaoyang Foundation, firstly delivered a speech, stating that on the occasion of the 3rd Asia-Africa Women’s Development and Cooperation Forum held in Hong Kong, the organizer invited the guests to meet and interact with the participating entrepreneurs, so as to promote exchanges and cooperation, and to facilitate Asia-Africa women’s cooperation and development. The entrepreneurs have made remarkable achievements in their own business fields, have long been concerned about supporting public welfare and women’s development, and are looking forward to developing international business. As the participants are all influential and outstanding figures in their countries, The Forum utilized the margins of the meeting to arrange this event, which I believe will surely provide an opportunity for both sides to cooperate.

The participating entrepreneurs introduced their companies and expressed the desires for cooperation at the seminar respectively, including Mr. WANG Qi- General Manager of MCC INTERNATIONAL HONG KONG LIMITED; Mr. QIN Shuo-Head of Overseas Affairs Department of Health Engineering Working Committee of China Ethnic Health Association; Mr. XUE Bin-Executive Director of Beijing Lianci Health Public Welfare Foundation; Mr. JI Xin-Manager of Xintai Huicheng Health Science & Technology Co., Ltd; Mr. CHEN Xingbiao- General Manager of Yangzhou Kaifeng Footwear Co., Ltd; Mr. PAN Xinhua-Chairman of Jiangxi Xiankelai Biotechnology Co., Ltd.; Ms.LI Keying-Chairman of Jinan Pingyin Maozhen Rose Co., Ltd; Mr. LIU Hu-Chairman of Guangzhou Huahu New Energy Tech Ltd.

The guests and entrepreneurs had friendly interactions and guests expressed strong interest in the participating companies, the companies are welcome to visit guests’ countries as soon as possible.

During the seminar, the China Foundation for Peace and Development, and the Beijing Yaoyang Foundation have signed strategic cooperation agreements with Meles Zenawi Foundation and Joyce Banda Foundation respectively; and they will cooperate in the development of women’s careers , public welfare and livelihood programs in the future.

Finally, Ms. Pansy Ho -Member of Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairman of Hong Kong Federation of Women, delivered a speech on behalf of the organizer, saying that today’s seminar was particularly meaningful, and that the participating Chinese enterprises and guests from various countries had fruitful interactions, deepening their understanding of each other, and laying a solid foundation for more and better cooperation in the future. As a Chinese civil society organization, we will, as always, continue to connect Chinese companies going abroad, continue to explore resources of international public welfare, and contribute to the women’s development and cooperation in Asia and Africa.
